Laundry Done Alert
Wet clothes left sitting in the washer turn musty, and a dryer buzzer is easy to miss from another room. This is a small sensor idea that tells you when the machine has stopped.
How it would work
- Stick it on: attach it to the side or top of the washer or dryer. No wiring and no changes to the machine.
- It feels the shaking: once the vibration has stopped for a few minutes, it treats the cycle as done.
- It lets you know: depending on the version, it beeps at the machine or sends an alert to your phone.
Two versions we're exploring
- Buzzer version: runs on regular batteries and beeps at the machine. No app, no Wi-Fi, no account.
- Phone-alert version: connects to home Wi-Fi and sends a notification to your phone.
To be upfront: prototypes are still being tested. Some cycles pause or soak, and some dryers vibrate very little, so it may not suit every machine.
